Went downtown to Comic Relief today to pick up the book I'd requested. They had failed to call to let me know it came in. This wasn't terribly frustrating, but since I had to call and ask them to hold the book, it certainly made me wonder if it would be worth doing that again. The clerk assured me that failure to notify was a rare occurance, so I'll probably be good and continue patronizing my local shop rather than saying fuck it and ordering things more cheaply and lazily online. Naturally though, instead of just picking up that book, I bought like...four others as well. Economic stimulation powers activate! Secret Invasion, here I come. :d

I'm working now on finishing up my image for the spn_j2_xmas exchange. I worry that it won't live up to the image that I did for Blue's fic, but well, it's in a different style, so it's hard to compare.

Finally got some progress going on a stalled commission for which I'm grateful. I so often wrestle with the tendency to get overly nitpicky about things. In that vein, decided to take a break and do a loose image and not let myself struggle with it. Turned out rough, but decent.

I'm a bit exhausted still but I've spent the past couple days doing fuck all and it's been fantastic. Today I actually sat down and drew something fannish entirely for fun.

I managed to finish my still life on time this week which is a relief. We were all given another week to fix little things and such, so that's good since my background needed some serious smoothing. Our next big homework assignment is a portrait in charcoal which we're supposed to grid and all that good stuff. Since we pretty much get to do a photo of anyone we want as long as it has good lighting, I am totally doing mine off one of the promo shots of Adama. Even if I'm completely sick of working with charcoal, getting to do more fanart for homework makes me happy.

So, 3.07 of SPN made me embarrass myself with how squishy I got over it. Oh, boys.

School starts for me this coming week. Since i mostly have pre-req and studio art classes I'm not exactly bouncing off the walls with excitement. I'm going to enjoy having a life drawing class again, but at this point since I have no point of reference I'm mostly curious to see what the workload is going to be like. Our stray housemate who's attending school with us is done with her work in Santa Cruz now and coming up to finally live with us tomorrow. Justin is planning on making delicious treatsy foods to celebrate her arrival. ^_^

On top of working on and helping with unpaid projects, I've been surprisingly busy with paying gigs this week. Lots of little illustration jobs and a few web projects, one of which I'm procrastinating starting on by writing up this entry. :3 I haven't really had the time I thought I would to doodle fun stuffs, I suppose that's what happens when there are people-shaped distractions and nightly movie time. Scanning on the laptop is a pain, so although I have some random sketch things I only scanned in the one I'm working on for dragyn. My new computer should arrive on Wednesday, which means I can actually colour things and get my BF2 on. Glee.
