After I finished a commission, I spent my time finishing this. I've had this pic in progress since forever and I wanted to put more detail and effort into it, but I figured I should get it done before this weekend. You know, before all I can think about is working on Comedian/Ozymandias filthy porn /other/ kinds of hotwrong bad touch.

Went with J and Neko to the IMAX re-release and nearly came in my pants omg. Unf. Scrawled this out today since I couldn't /not/ draw something. I still have a pretty filthy wrong Joker/Two-Face to finish, but that needs more than rough lines and a quicky colour job. I'm hoping that'll get done this coming week though. Comic fandoms clearly sucking out my brain fully as I also have two Tony/Steve pics needing to be coloured and some Watchmen things (PRACTICALLY A MONTH OMG) I am dying to draw. I also seriously want to whip up some Patriot fanart, cause good lord that boy is hot. :x

Also since I couldn't take it anymore and cut my hair again, I'm considering cosplaying Maria Hill at Wondercon. So tempting and easy to make. :x

Somehow I am sleepy. I did a lot today though in terms of errands and general Getting Things Done. Have some homework and commission things still on my to-do list for the evening, but I'm otherwise a little ahead of where I thought I'd be. Anyway, um, art? Finished this first since it was simple. I like simple. Also, crossdressing.

Early yesterday morning I had those preliminary throat hurties that made me suck down emer-gen-c like nobodies business in the worry that I'd caught a cold. It was tough to tell at first since I hadn't drunk much water the night before and was otherwise feeling fine. Made it through most of yesterday before the majority of the symptoms hit, but the last few hours of work I was a little spaced out and rather glad I wasn't handling food. Luckily I was off today and have tomorrow off as well, and I'm already feeling better than I had last night (enough to pick up my pen and draw even!) so I'm hoping I'll have the most of my energy back by tomorrow so I can at least enjoy a teensy bit of my days off!

I think I like drawing Two-Face more. Mostly because he's easier, hah. Either that or I really, really, shouldn't even be /trying/ to draw movie!canon Batman. I went ahead and put all the suit details in my sketch and then gave up during the colouring stage since I am a little too delirious to care. While contemplating what to work on tonight, I found some of the Batman fanart that I was working on during my illustration class. I'm thinking about finishing them up. Looking at them now I'm more forgiving of some of the flaws that had been cropping up. Anyway, I drew some porn today to make myself feel better. Next time maybe more crossdressing. Eheh. >_> Or maybe the Batman/Gordon that I have been not-so-sekritly dying for.

In some fandoms nearly every fic posted was worth a read, so in those cases I limited myself in terms of not reccing every single one. Tough calls, sometime, though. And in order to break things up a bit, here's my first set of recs. All non-comedy fandoms/fics in this one.

Angel Sanctuary - A Taste of You - Kira/Katou, mentions of Kira/Alexiel, Kira/Setsuna

Kira has always liked the taste of cigarettes. He fancies that cancer is a spice, noxious and thickly sweet, one more forbidden fruit in a corrupt life. In Anagura, all smoke tastes of carrion and brimstone and promises set adrift. The effect is surprisingly addictive.

Angel Sanctuary - The Game in the Garden - Lucifer/Alexiel

Alexiel recognizes the value of overwhelming force and unmitigated slaughter; her lack of subtlety makes her even less well-suited to the game. They commiserate over this sometimes.

The benchtop was patterned in dusty-red peonies, a style closer to the fashion of their parents' time than theirs. At the corner, a section of veneer the size of a silver dollar was missing, revealing chipboard beneath. Like Gordon's failings as a provider, this had a certain humble charm, but would become less charming over time.

Weill Cornell is an imposing building, but it's busy, and it's easy to slip into a clot of medical students as they walk into the trauma center. He's always thought that they should make hospitals harder to break into. Inside is a complicated mess of people and fluorescent lighting; his head swims, but he blinks twice and holds on. He slides an empty clipboard into his hand as he passes one of the main desks and glances down at it with a distantly irritated expression while he strides down the hall.

The Breakfast Club - State of Imaginary Grace - Bender/Brian

Still, Alison's invitation was tempting - but it was simply too expensive. A round-trip plane ticket was completely out of his reach. No, Brian thanked her and sent her a Christmas card and gift (a wallet with many compartments, to remind her of her bag lady days), and she sent him a card with a pretty Christmas tree on it, with her giving him the middle finger drawn in. It was good to keep in touch, he thought, and smiled.

Books allow him to make sense of the things he'd seen through John's eyes. Monsters and creatures, awful in their magnificence. When they're summed down to words and phrases, human doubts, they're not half as real. There are times when he wishes he could stop looking and believe in fiction.


My favourites in this batch are probably Footsteps Ran Past in Bourne Identity, and Lodestone in Batman Begins. They win for sheer atmosphere and god, they just nail the characters and their environment so well it blows my mind.
