Mercedes Lackey is now welcoming the production of fanworks provided they're released creative commons.

This makes me happy in several ways, and slightly inclined towards redoing some abandoned fanart. I still don't believe in the need for permission, but the encouragement is nice. If only I hadn't been utterly disgusted by her self-insert and washed my hands of all her novels.

Now if only Robin Hobb would stop being full of crazy and anti-fan so I could start buying her books again.

    HAHAHAHAHAHA, that was what made me wash my hands of them, too!

    Though I still re-read some of the non-Valdemar novels; I love Andre and Jennifer too much to give them up. :D Even after that abomination-in-Herald's-clothing hooked up with Alberich. Eeeurrgh.

    Wow! That's generous of her. Though I did also stop reading her at around college. Her characters were too Mary-Sue-ish. I hope to see your works soon!
