Mostly free anyway. I need to go in tomorrow to get my anatomical sculpture graded and take it home, but am otherwise done with this semester.
I got so burnt out in ecorche it was pathetic. I was just not at all engaged in that class. The room was overly warm...except for these last two weeks, which I'm sure correlates to the class surveys we had to fill out and I was not the only student who wrote a novel on there about the poor conditions of the "room" which is actually a hallway offshoot and not at all up to the standards of any of the other rooms in the building. Aside from the classroom environment being suck, the pacing was nowhere near comfortable for me. Everyone else needed more time so things went very, very slowly. A lot of it was perfectionism as well as a lot of the students not having taken any anatomy first (wtf). I came in with 2d knowledge and was more interested in putting a bunch of muscle forms on my model quickly and then using the rest of the time to refine them. It also doesn't help that I bought one of the beautiful Freedom of Teach ecorche sculptures at Wondercon. Ah well, I learned things and now I can move on. Yay.
3d I did decently on, but as I mentioned before, I spent way too much time on pre-vis than on modeling. I could have had something outstanding if I'd had solid concept art to go from, but I was pleased to see how much detailing I could come up with when I built the majority of my environment so quickly. Unlike some of my other projects though I'm not too interested in revisiting it. I'd like to model something similar down the line, but I'm not at all happy with the design of the bodysuit. Things feel very tacked on to me rather than being organic. I may try some paintovers or get some character design folks I know to take a look at it.

I started with cyberpunk and then ended up somewhere more towards decopunk. None of which you can tell without the full body shot, which I'm not bothering to post. :p

And part of my cobbled together last minute environment. Not subdivided, so the rough edges are showing. J actually did that fancy door, which is all awesome with working parts and everything.
Now I plan to laze around for a few hours and then crash since I have to go to work early tomorrow and bake muffins for the Bike to Work Day energizer station at the North Berkeley BART. Extra hours /and/ feeding Bike to Work'ers, I count this as totally worth it.
Tomorrow is J's last class. Based on whether or not he needs to pull an all nighter tonight, I think the plan is pick up my sculpture, meet up at the Powell building, and then go next door for end of semester margaritas and nachos.

Train to... SHOPPING? I can't wait to drag you out shopping again~ :D
But shopping would be nice. I need new shoes as my vans are dying on me. Margaritas shall possibly be tomorrow night, since J is working a big catering tonight.
Aha, new couch. >:D If you know what I mean. XD
ehe.
Oh man, I'm tired today. Also, I can't wait to get a new phone.
and kick your ass. And I'm really loving the concept of "decopunk". Is that a real term or did you make it up? And why is it making plotbunnies jump in my head?Oh, and this is quite random, but I was cleaning recently and found the lovely holiday card you sent (yes, I still had xmas cards out, shup!) and remembered that you said you wished you'd taken pics of them. I don't know if this was one of the ones you wanted a picture of, but I think it's gorgeous so you must! Anyway, here's a pic!
And oh, thank you for taking the pic of the card! I had so much fun making those. <3333
