Despite slight miscommunication between [info]nekofreak and I, we met up and made it to Wondercon with perfect timing. The line moved super fast, we got our badges without hassle, and then skimmed through the exhibition hall and up the stairs to make it in to the panel for Watchmen.

So, the opening sequence and the first ten minutes or so was breathtaking. I am even more excited now than I was before.

BUT TO BE HONEST I WAS MORE EXCITED ABOUT JDM'S ADORABLY TOUSLED HAIR AND SPRAWLING. I had line of sight, so I don't think I was even looking at the screen unless he was on it. Ahaha. Out of politeness to the people next to me, well, the person who was not Neko and thus unprepared, I kept my excited wriggling down to a minimum. I wanted to strangle all the idiots who failed at the Q&A, but I'll reluctantly give points to the girl who asked about scenes they were excited or dreading to film and got a sarcastic response from JDM about the spoilerspoiler scene. Sarcasm win.

  • I've got the "wanna see, can't bear to look" thing going on in re Watchmen. I read the graphic novel quite a while ago, and it's still got a high spot on my "best ever" list, so the movie has some very high expectations to live up to.

    Might wait for Netflix, might break down and see it in the theater... Damn, but this Libra indecisiveness is killing me, here! ^_^;;
    • I was very impressed with the page to screen translation. Enough so that I didn't urge my husband to hurry and read it before seeing the film. It's not that frame-by-frame that Sin City did, but all the locations they showed felt authentic and just...right. I think the fight scenes I've seen so far are more eyecandy than they need to be, but I expected that with Snyder directing....and well, I love fight scenes, so it's much of a minus for me. :p
  • Eeeee! I am vicariously thrilled that you got to see JDM!!

    I've seen Jared and Jensen several times, but NEVER Papa!
    • He totally got the most applause coming out which was awesome! (Which was a slight increase, but measurable!)) And there was clearly an estrogen brigade on the far side of the room providing the high pitched scream-squealing that I was too behaved to emit.

      :D But yes! Sprawling! Like, totally leaning back, arm behind Patrick Wilson's chair and looking all relaxed and adorable. And then at the end of the panel, when the inane Q&A was almost over, he was all Serious and Intent when a deaf woman was looking to a ask a final question. <333
  • I love his interviews. He's so much fun to listen to because he can tell stories. (The story where he caught on fire? His Cure years? He's so much ♥.)
  • WHA--?! why did you get to see it already?! I have to waith till march 6th!
    • They showed the opening scene/credits and an additional 10 minutes or so. It did it's job to make me even more excited for opening day!
  • Ohgod, con Q&A. Last year at the Dollhouse panel, someone asked Joss Whedon the "Why do you write such strong women characters" question. Half the room groaned. And sweet, sweet Tahmoh, he looks around all earnestly and says, "What? What's wrong with that question?" Oh, Tahmoh.
    • What is wrong with that question? Is it just one that gets asked fifty times a panel? (I've never been to a Joss panel at a con, so I don't know -- although I do know that sort of question and the booing it tends to get, so if that's the reason, I can imagine.)
      • Joss Whedon's answer

        to what is wrong with that question:

        • Re: Joss Whedon's answer

          Thanks. I've literally never seen one interview with Joss (unless it was part of a montage of talking heads on some Firefly special features or something, which is pretty much the only Joss show I've really been into).
          • Re: Joss Whedon's answer

            To Joss' credit, even after making that speech, he still answers the question in a polite, respectful manner. At this panel, he talked about his mother when he answered.

            (btw, I love your icon. :D )
            • Re: Joss Whedon's answer

              That's good though -- but yeah I can totally imagine the booing, heh.

              Thanks!
        • Re: Joss Whedon's answer

          Thanks for posting that link. Joss rules!
    • This was the lamest Q&A. I was ashamed on behalf of them. I wish I'd been near to the mic because I actually had a good question that was, uh, actually a question.
  • heh welcome to the amazing world of neko timing! somehow things like that often work out for me ^^;

    i'm so glad we made it to the panel and you were so adorable and fangirly~ ^_^ *squish* did you guys go back today at all?
