I've been moving like a slug all week. That's not to say I haven't accomplished much, but there are some pretty important gigs on the top of my priority list that I've been too otherwise occupied to put much time into. Today I have an illustration draft to send out to a client, and I need to get more ink for my printer as it ran out at the most inopportune time. I'm hoping to get some drawing in as well, especially since I was on such a roll and I know once school really gets going I'll be back to having zero free time.
My lack of drawing and general malaise yesterday and today is due in part to that I'm having some work stress. To say that I am excessively unhappy with my scheduling is um, putting it politely. The weekend closer routinely forgets things which means I have to come in early on Sundays to pick up the slack, and despite offering a suggestion to switch our shifts which would eliminate the problem, I'm still opening the morning after. I feel like I'm being punished for her failure to hold up her end of things. I'm going to pull her aside this weekend and try and communicate with her one last time, but I'm sort of scraping the barrel on caring enough to fence-mend. Hopefully we'll be switching to adding the dinner schedule soon so I don't have to worry about it anymore, because as much as I like my job in general and the place where I work, there's a limit to how much I'll sacrifice my own happiness. Crixa is hiring for exactly the same thing I do now, but full time and with the benefits I'm no longer eligible for at current-job, which if I didn't have a Wednesday class would be more tempting than it already is. Meh.
I finally posted the Yuletide fic I wrote over on my fanworks site: (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - Harmony/Harry/Perry - An Alan Smithee Sequel). I'd also been intending to use Destiny interrupted more as a blog lately, but since I have enough trouble trying to parse out how I want to arrange the fan content, I decided just to run a separate site for blogging and sketching and projects and non-day-job-workstuff. I now have foundcake.com to play around on. There are a couple plugins yet to install, but part of me wants to be lazy and just wait for wordpress 2.8 and the ability to install them from the backend without needing to bother with ftp.
Eventually I'm going to need to decide whether or not I'm going to brave the cold and wet to walk down to the office supply store to get my ink. The odds don't look good. :p
